The BH-703 is a bluetooth headset by Nokia..I have written a review on it.Please read it and give your opinions.I thank WOM WORLD for giving me this device for trialing.
The BH-703 isn’t available in the markets yet and the model I am reviewing is a pre-sales model. Its performance should be the same as the retail one.
Advantages
Light Weight
Unique Design
Touch Sensitive Controls
Good Sound Quality
Disadvantages
Fingerprint Magnet
Design
The design is one of my favorite points about the BH-703.the headset is thin, short and best of all comes in a piano black color which looks really funky. Along with the black color, there are silver lines on the headset. It is a fingerprint magnet due to its glossy surface. The pattern of lines and the design of the headset reminds me of the prism series by Nokia. Thus the prism and this would be a killer combination. It will also match most of the other silver or black phones such as the N95 8GB.The Nokia logo is also in silver.
Comfort
The headset is very comfortable to use even for very long periods, in fact it is the most comfortable headset I have ever used. Once you wear it, you will soon forget that its hanging to your ear because of its light weight. The headset can be worn with or without the removable ear loop. Nokia has also included earplugs of different sizes for users to get the maximum comfort possible. It can be worn on both ears.
Controls
The controls on the device are lesser in number than what you may find in a conventional headset. But as the saying goes ” never judge a book by its cover”, this bad boy too has some secrets. At a glance we will be able to see only the multi-function key. You will be left wondering what happened to the volume rocker key. Nokia took the Bluetooth headset to another level and gave it a touch sensitive volume key. You can adjust the volume by moving your finger upwards or downwards on the region below the multifunction key. You can also mute and unmute the headset by tapping twice on this region. I feel this method of input is better as there are no projections and hence the headset looks neat. The indicator which is usually located on the front side of most headsets is located on the top of the headsets. Some people may feel this position is better as it distracts them less, but there are people who like the indicator light.
Battery
It can be charged using the charger included. But since the model I received was a pre-sales model, I used a micro-usb cable to charge it because I did not have an adaptor. Charging took about an hour. Nokia claims it to have a talk time of 6 hours and a standby time of up to 160 hours which I feel is quite sufficient.
Call and Sound Quality
The quality during a call is very good and it can be heard even in noisy places. There is very little distortion and disturbance. The headset has unique noise cancelling features. But the letdown is when complex sounds are produced such as while hearing music, there is distortion.
Conclusion
This is a headset fit for anyone and anywhere. You do not feel that it does not match your surroundings etc while wearing it. It’s the best headset that I have tried till date.
