My friends over at WOMWorld have started a mobile version of the famous WOMWorld website.

Eldar Murtazin of Mobile Review has published a preview of the Sony Ericsson W585 which is the successor of the W580.
He says that that even after the problem of the keypad in the W580, Sony Ericsson still hasn’t fixed the problem in this handset. The camera is of average quality and is inferior to the one in the Nokia 5610. The paint on the device is also bad as the prototype which he uses lost its finish in a few months. This one also like the W902 is quite expensive compared to other phones of the same features.
“The W585i is a pretty late call, since the Nokia 5610 has been around for ages and its price has been on a downswing of late. And while the W585i will go for 50-80 Euros more, it won’t have much to offer – the 5610 already trumps it in terms of player functionality, camera and sales package. This way, the future of the Sony Ericsson W585i appears to be vaporous at best; but probably they haven’t thought about it much, releasing the remake of a marginally popular device. Hello? I can see no owners of the W580i lining up for such a steep upgrade.”

He seems disappointed with Sony Ericsson’s new mobile phones. About this phone, he feels that it does not live up to expectations. He says though this is a Walkman phone, it lacks a Dedicated Audio Processor and a 3.5mm audio jack. The handset is expected to come with an 8GB memory card.
The camera module is exactly the same as the one on the C902. He also claims that the price of the phone will be on the higher end.
“P.S. If some of you think that I’m being harsh in this write-up – you are spot on. I just can’t stand what they have done to one of the market’s finest line-up in no time after 5 years of development and hard work. They had a wake-up call back in 2007. Apparently, they didn’t hear it.”

Here is a picture which shows all the mobile phones made by Nokia from 1982 till 2006. Click on the thumbnail to see the full picture.
