Sony Ericsson Aino Preview-GSMArena

Sony Ericsson Aino is without a doubt one entertaining slider. It does pretty much all the stuff the other Sony Ericsson feature phones do, but does it better. It brings in some heavy multimedia firepower such as a PS3-inspired touch menu, a large 3-inch touchscreen, VGA@30fps video recording.

Of course, Wi-Fi and GPS are also in the mix to make the device that much more tempting. The Remote Play feature, initially developed for PSP, enables users to control and access media content on Playstation 3 from their phone.

Unfortunately, we don’t really find the Sony Ericsson Aino exterior breathtaking. It rather takes a somewhat conservative approach and an unassuming touch-only look, when it’s not opened.

Sony Ericsson Yari Preview-GSMArena

The Sony Ericsson Yari may miss the mark as the most innovative slider, but only if you don’t look closer. Upon a second look, you will find that the Sony Ericsson Yari is a tiny little thing that’s full of surprises.

The Yari has got a pretty decent 5 megapixel auto focus camera, but it’s main focus point is another thing – gesture gaming. And we’re not talking about accelerometer-based gesture recognition.

Thanks to an optical tracker technology developed by GestureTek, the Sony Ericsson Yari can use its camera to detect your movements and translate them into games moves. It can even do wireless multiplayer.

The technology has already been available to Japanese DoCoMo cellphones but it’s only now that it’s making its way to world-wide availability.

LG GD900 Crystal Preview-GSMArena

If a phone can get away with looking like a dummy phone, it’s art. Let’s see. You wouldn’t want to touch the LG Crystal. At least a couple of minutes you’ll just sit back and admire. OK, you’ll eventually start exploring it and the question will slowly emerge.

What kind of keyboard do you put on a full-touch phone? Well the answer is simple – a touchpad. The LG Crystal keypad is not a real keypad, but a transparent touchpad instead. And it’s not there as a typing commodity, it’s there for the coolness of it. How sick is that you may ask? Well, we don’t really know but we’re infected.

We are previewing a pre-production unit here but it’s the most final design that LG currently have and happily matches the latest official photos, so the exterior will most likely stay the same in the final retail version.

If you’ve followed the Crystal as closely as we have, you will know that back in the day when it was first displayed to the public it had a strikingly different blue front panel gradient that later on silently disappeared. We guess them focus groups are more fond of uniform gray than gradient blue.
