Sony Ericsson C905 vs Samsung INNOV8-Mobile Review

Camera Comparison of Sony Ericsson C905 vs Samsung INNOV8.

“To be honest with you, I was planning this piece as a lowdownon the C905’s camera, however eventually it has turned into a head-to-head comparison with another 8 Mpix cameraphone - the Samsung INNOV8. And right off the bat, so as to dispel all questions and doubts about the credibility of our sample images, we guarantee that all shots were taken with the latest software available for these handsets. That is, our Sony Ericsson C905 was running on R1BA072 firmware, and it’s more than likely that this version will make it to the phone’s retail release. Actually, if even they will update it, it won’t make much difference, since the hardware found in our sample was exactly the same as in the commercial version of the phone.

During our quality time with either of these phones we made hundreds of photos in all imaginable environments (all in all, the final count is this: five hundred for the C905 and around a thousand for the INNOV8). So, in my opinion, we won’t run out of sample snaps any time soon, plus this vast gallery we have accumulated over the last months should make for a decent and comprehensive comparison between these two cameraphones.

Furthermore, having some other not-yet-announced 8 Mpix shooters on our hands, we managed to see how the INNOV8 and C905 fared against similarly geared solutions - as it turned out, they weren’t that much different at all.

For those of you wondering, there is no point in throwing the Samsung PIXON M8800’s camera into this write-up as well - as a matter of fact, it’s slightly worse than that found in the INNOV8. Furthermore, the M8800 is a totally different type of phone, plus it won’t be able to reach the sales of the i8510. You could just as well compare a five-liter sporty roadster and a truck with exactly the same engine. Same goes for the M8800’s direct rival, the LG K910. But those of you who can’t handle the thought they won’t see a showdown between all existing 8 Mpix shooters, skim through our exclusive review on the M8800, where we put it up against both the INNOV8 and C905. Really, there is no harm in facing it off against the best cameraphones around, but such a comparison is quite meaningless.”

Samsung PIXON M8800 Review-Mobile Review

Samsung INNOV8 on the left and M8800 on the right

Samsung INNOV8 on the left and M8800 on the right

Review of the Samsung PIXON M8800 by Eldar Murtazin of Mobile Review.

“As of today, there is no phone that can take the M8800 on in terms of functionality and user interface, bar Windows Mobile based solutions (that allow the user to install third-party applications) and the Apple iPhone. However the iPhone’s operating system is much more inferior to that of the M8800, plus it doesn’t have some of the most basic features onboard and in this sense the Samsung M8800 is way ahead of it. All in all, it’s a quaint, yet likable device with no counterparts whatsoever.

The final part of the review is coming up tomorrow. Stay tuned for our take on the Samsung M8800’s positioning and design!”

Samsung M3200 Beat Review-GSMArena

GSMArena have published a review on the Samsung M3200 Beat phone.

The Samsung M3200 Beat s is definitely a modest package, for both looks and skill, but music features have not been compromised a jot. It does look sufficiently armed to survive the Walkman-XpressMusic crossfire, and even shoot back. At this point, the Beat edition lacks the style to stand up to the high ranks of rival music phones, but will sure cause commotion in the midrange.”

Samsung S7330 Review-GSMArena

Samsung S7330

Samsung S7330

A review of the Samsung S7330 by GSMArena.

Someone at Samsung must be really fond of the Soul design and, honestly, we can see why. How we feel about it is not the point though. The Soul looks are spilling down the company portfolio, like it or not. The latest incarnation - Samsung S7330 - packs in stylish exterior, well-rounded feature set and a moderate price tag. And what sounds like a good recipe already is spiced up by the yet exotic touchpad. No news so far, but knowing what to expect can actually turn hard on the S7330. Users will feel entitled to more than passable performance, so let’s see if it delivers.”

Samsung B2700 Review-GSMArena

Samsung B2700

Samsung B2700

Samsung B2700 is like the Samsung’s own Sonim XP1. Here’s a review on it by GSMArena.

“Samsung may be flying high on INNOV8 but they sure have at least a toe on the ground. Just recently they spilled the low-to-mid-end bag, so we don’t forget a flagship is only as good as the fleet behind it. No handset in the handful they just recently dropped is likely to top the food chain but what a massive landing it was.

Quite duly, the first in the dozen to make it to the GSMArena shore is the B2700 toughie. The latest rugged handset by Samsung has the same level of dust and water splash resistance as the toughest of phones Sonim XP1. The feature set is the great difference.

We’re yet to see how hard it is to break the B2700, but a compass, pedometer, altimeter and a flashlight do make it harder to resist. Significantly cheaper than the Sonim XP1, Samsung B2700 is making a good go at the rugged phone market.”

Samsung i8510 INNOV8 Review-Mobile Review

Samsung i8510 INNOV8

Samsung i8510 INNOV8

Here is a review of the Samsung i8510 by Eldar Murtazin of Mobile Review.

“I believe touting the i8510’s strengths won’t be of great use - it’s simply THE most functional solution around and it won’t give up this title for 4-5 months more, which is a pretty long term these days. Samsung have finally managed to roll out a really top-notch phone that trumps literally every other handset we have ever seen as far as its feature pack goes. Curiously, when designing products like this, phone makers usually have their own name and prestige in mind rather than market prospects. That’s why the i8510 is actually a quite painful poke at Nokia, who gave birth to this very segment a while back with their record-breaking N95 and are now looking at Samsung taking it away from them.”

Samsung G400 Review-Mobile Review

Samsung G400

Samsung G400

Eldar Murtazin of Mobile Review has written a review on the 5 Megapixel Samsung G400.

“This phone has already arrived and is selling for around 400 Euro, which is a bit above the price for the Samsung U900 Soul. But going for the G400 are its new form-factor and a touch-sensitive external screen, which is actually its main feature. As far as its crucial drawbacks go, the Samsung G400 doesn’t have any, at least compared to the U900 Soul’s functionality – in fact it’s the same phone but in a different wrapping.”

Test Driving The Samsung INNOV8-Mobile Review

Samsung i8510 INNOV8

Samsung i8510 INNOV8

Mobile Review has published an article which speaks on the Samsung INNOV8’s camera quality etc.

“All in all, the i8510’s image quality can stand comparison with that of the IXUS70, which is quite an achievement already. To be more specific, the images taken with the digital camera offer more natural colors, whereas sometimes the Samsung i8510 employs a more aggressive palette (as compared to that of the IXUS70), hence oversaturated colors and overall sharpness of objects. You will surely notice some noise at the bottom of all shots taken with the digital camera, whereas the i8510 fares somewhat better on this front - take a closer look at the image snapped indoors (in a subway). So the bottom line is this - as far as shooting in poor weather conditions goes, Samsung i8510 isn’t much worse than a good digital compact, offering a comparable amount of noise and sharpness.”

Samsung i900 Omnia Review-GSMArena

GSMArena has published a review on the Samsung i900 Omnia.

“Now that the dust of the Diamond vs. Omnia PocketPC battle settles down, our up close and personal look at the rivals continues with Samsung i900 Omnia. Slick looks, great feature-pack and ingenious software solutions are things that hold true for the i900 Omnia in the same extent as for the Diamond.”
